Description

So this is just a placeholder deviation for right now, I'm sorry. But the video is up on Youtube, and as soon as I find a good way of taking pictures for a deviation I'll replace this image I promise.

Shaping the Blade 2 Video: [link]

So in this vid we cover the last steps to shaping the blade. This includes cutting the bo-hi, cutting the spine, and also finishing off the tang. I kind of feel like this is my worst tut so far, so let me know if I can do anything to change it.

I also want to give due credit to *fixinman who designed and made a tutorial for the bo-hi cutter. So go check out his work, he has some amazing swords as well as other great art.

Thanks a lot for the time and effort you put into making these, i'm having a go at making one myself by following your tutorials, it's turning out great so far!
I have a question or two if you don't mind; Does the bo-hi start at the tip of the blade or just below the habaki? I want to carve some decoration into the blade, (near the hilt end preferably) so to leave space on the 'blade' should i start the bo-hi further away from the hilt and down to the tip or start from below the hilt and stop further away from the tip? Or would it lose its authenticity if i did that? (Do bo-hi usually run all the way to the tip?)

(Thankyou very much, i hope you can make some sense of that!) :)
