Tools & Materials Video: [link]
So here is part 3, the list of tools and materials that I use in my process and an estimate of what they'll cost. This is about as basic as it gets. Just for anyone not familiar with my work, I use only hand tools, and zero power tools. This is for two reasons. One, it's how I started out and still do it, and I"m kind of proud of that. Second, it keeps the initial cost of construction down. Having said that, there is no reason not to use power tools if you've got them, as the important part is the product you produce. So if you can do the same thing with power tools, go right ahead. I just wanted to do this from the perspective of someone brand new without tools.
The list is as follows:
Razor Knife
1/4" Chisel
Rasp or file, two different roughness, one side curved
Coping saw, 4" depth, wood blades
Wood glue 4oz bottle
Wood filler 16oz container (you can get less)
Sandpaper (80,100,120,150,220 and 400 grit)
Gloves
Dust mask
Eye glasses
Wood Stock, pine or aspen strip wood, 1/4" thick, at least 3" wide, 4 feet long
It's pretty self explanatory, but I'll happily answer any questions you've got! We've only got one more step before we get started, so I hope you're ready.
